Junior Brian Jackson and sophomore Sophia Mendez give the school sports update for the second half of October as the school prepares for the long awaited football match against Ronald Reagan high school.
The football team has only defeated Ronald Reagan high school three times in the schools' 12 year history, and there is much pressure on the team to keep up their perfect season.
Following some important rival games against Reagan and Churchill respectively, the Jags push onward on the hardwood and continue their strong season to make a push for a higher playoff seed.
On Monday, December 8th, a unanimous vote conducted by the NEISD Board of Trustees officially approved a new policy that will take effect in the 2015-2016 school year. According to this policy, students who attend Bush middle school will be required to attend Reagan high school. However, a grandfather clause may grant some students the opportunity to chose which high school they would like to attend, either Reagan or Johnson.
This year the rivalry is doing good for the community. The Jags and the Rattlers are competing in a friendly competition to see who can donate the most cans for the San Antonio Food Drive.
