The Jaguar basketball team is rolling past opponents as they continue their fast start to their season. While maintaining a record of 17-6 overall they have racked up 4 district wins and 0 losses.
The girls and boys basketball team are above .500 and are, currently, on to the second round of districts. This brings both of them closer to their main goal: state.
The first thing on junior Jabari Aiken’s mind the morning after losing to Vandegrift High School by 1 point in the football playoffs was: offseason. He planned to use his time to get better so that he can come back stronger next year.
A year after making it to the third round of playoffs, a school record, the girl’s basketball team is back on the hardwood court with a goal to come back better.
In a sport that consumes so much physically and mentally, swimmers need to be physically strong and mentally tough in the way they practice and compete for their events.
The bus ride was long, but the legacy that was created would last so much longer. An opportunity to make history was presented and they accepted it. The cheerleaders overcame obstacles and persevered through tough times to become the first winners of the UIL State competition.
