Boeing’s New Airplane

The new 747 dash 8 is currently under flight testing in Seattle Washington. It has many new improvements to the 747 dash 400, like…

It has a stretch of 16ft, 3ft longer than the a380-800. It also has new engines that burn 13% less than the a380. and if that’s not enough it also costs less for the airlines to fly, 6% less than the a380 and more savings than the 747-400. partially because it uses the 787’s next gen engines which are the Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines. Also the cargo version will have more cargo capacity than the previous 747’s.

Now lets talk about the engines. The new engines are, as I previously said are the ones used on the 787-3/8/9. The Rolls Royce Trent 1000 engines and the GE(general electric) Genx-2b engines which will give it a range of 8,000 nautical miles for the passenger variant and 4,390 nautical miles for the cargo variant. handling is also no different with the GE engines than with the Trent 1000 engines.

The passenger variant will have many new features including different shaded windows to more seat space or even more of a recline for your back after a long day in the office. So lets talk about the windows, the new windows are just like the 787’s you can press a button and the shade will change so you can allow as much light in as you want in your seat, now that’s cool. Don’t forget that you will also have more room so it is easier to get out of your seat row, remind you of anything??  It will have a range a range of 8,000 nautical miles so if your flying that whole distance beware of disturbances with young children running down the isle. but you can also have a nice long nap to.

Thanks for reading – stand by for part two: the cargo and the tests.
