Mayor Catro Visits Lee On First Day Of School

Mayor Julian Castro eagerly greeted Lee High School students as they got off the bus on the first day of school. Mayor Castro made the morning announcements to welcome all students on their first day. Later, Mayor Castro visited several classrooms where he personally encouraged students to seek a higher education.

He also gave a shout out to all students over the pa system to encourage them to do their best this school year.

“Graduating from high school is not the end,” he said, “it’s just the beginning. Your college education can open up your future to limitless possibilities.”

Later, the Mayor, Lee Principal Michael Cardona and NEISD Superintendent Richard Middleton toured parts of the campus and met with parents along the way.
