Some people do not consider cheer leading a sport because it is not as competitive as others. When being compared to gymnastics, which is a sport, they have very much in common, so why isn’t cheer a sport?
Cheerleaders take part in tumbling, flipping which requires extreme flexibility and balance.
Along with acrobats, comes the injuries. Cheerleaders are highly exposed to critical injuries that put their life in danger.
Cheer competitions and are extremely competitive and the winning teams recieve trophies just like any other sport.
Cheer should be considered a sport because every single cheerleader puts in a team effort including going to daily practices. They are also are required to wear uniforms.
