Winning just the first game of the match, girls’ volleyball lost to Reagan 3-1 (Games W-L) at Littleton Gym Oct. 22. The team’s seventh loss in district knocks them out of this year’s playoff competition.

Displaying great teamwork and hit accuracy in the first game, inaccurate hits and a tough Reagan defense haunted the team for the rest of the match. Despite their mistakes, the team many times matched point for point with the fourth ranked Rattlers.

“They’re playing hard; they’re still competing,” Coach Margaret Mitcham said. “They love the game, so they’re not ever going to give up.”

With two games left in the season, the girls can only work on how to improve for next year. Coach Mitcham plans for the team to “come out and play hard and have fun.”

“We’re playing just to try to get better now,” Coach Mitcham said.

Their next game will be Fri. Oct. 24 6:30 p.m. at Littleton Gym against Roosevelt.
