Still undefeated in district play, the girls soccer team won their fourth game in a row against Churchill 2-0 March 3. The team is currently tied with Reagan for first place and three wins ahead of the second place team, Johnson.

Junior forward Kyra Falcone recorded her 15th goal of the season in the game. She is just two goals behind the first place scorer in the district and leads the district in assists.

Last season Falcone ended the season with 19 goals. Their are four more district games left for her to pass that mark.

“I’ve just been trying to get farther than I did last year,” Falcone said. “I’ve just been growing as player, so hopefully my stats will reflect that.”

A commanding lead in district standings certainly gives the team a huge chance to make the postseason. Nearing the end of the regular season, Falcone is optimistic that this team could make a deep playoff campaign.

“I don’t want to say anything yet,” Falcone said. “I’m really confident though that we could make it to at least second round.”

The team takes on Lee at BAC-East at 10 a.m. March 9.
