Senior Goodbye

I remember coming to this school my freshman year, thinking how big it is and how many people there are. I looked up to the seniors and I admired how they had their life together. I was excited to get out of high school, go to college and finally function on my own as an adult. Now that graduation is around the corner I realized how much I’ll miss this place and the people. Nothing will be the same, from now on everything won’t be as easy and as carefree.

Someday, I’ll look back at all the sleepless nights that I spent studying for tests, and all the mornings I had to force myself out of bed because I was so tired. The hours I spent finishing projects that no one else in the group cared about, and the countless essays I had to write at eleven at night. I’ll look back at all the pop shows and choir banquets I attended that made me feel like I was a part of a family. I will remember all the amazing teachers that prepared me and taught me everything I needed to know before I went out into the real world.

During my time here I have had the opportunity to meet many amazing people, that have had an influence on my growth as a person.  I feel like I’ve changed so much but when I look in the mirror I still see that small naive freshman who was afraid to talk in front of a larger group of people. I no longer talk to some people I met along the way but I still smile when I see them in the halls. We all changed and evolved, and sometimes that means leaving some people in the past.

High school may seem scary to some people and exciting to others. It will be much more than that, it will be a hurricane of emotions and experiences. You’ll be confused, anxious, stressed out and sometimes you’ll even cry. But you will also fall in love, laugh until tears fall down your cheeks. Sometimes it may seem like an endless cycle of work and studying but nothing will be as easy as these four years. Cherish these moments, I know I did.
