Team strives to win despite losses

With the varsity team starting their new season, they are attempting to bring home their first win at the Johnson game tomorrow in the gym. Because of their 45-47 loss against South San, the boy’s varsity basketball team is currently battling a 0-2 record in district.

“We plan on playing hard and learning from our mistakes,” shooting guard James Conley said. “I think the best thing for us is to learn from these other teams.”

With their two losses, the varsity team tries to hold their mindsets together to move on from those experiences.

“Overall the team is doing well it’s just sometimes [we] fall into despair and it affects the whole team,” shooting guard Deante Fludd said. “It’s something we will have to work on in the coming games.”

The team has high hopes for the season as they still have plenty of games to come

“One of our biggest strengths is that once we let go of the little stuff and work as a team we play our hardest,” Fludd said.
