Texas Vs Oklahoma Red River Rivalry Preview

This Saturday one of the biggest matchups in the Big 12 Conference happens with The Texas Longhorns Facing off against The Oklahoma Sooners in The Red River Rivalry. Usually, the game is played at the Texas State Fair with a packed stadium filled with Texas and OU fans but due to COVID restrictions, the Fair has been canceled and spectators will be limited to 25 percent capacity.

Texas comes into this game ranked #22 in the country with a 2-1 record after the frustrating loss to TCU last week, senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger leads the Texas offense with many different weapons like running back Roshawn Johnson who had a good game against the Sooners last year rushing for 95 yards and a touchdown and wide receiver Joshua Moore who already had four touchdowns on the year which looks great for Texas as Oklahoma can’t seem to find answers on defense.

Oklahoma comes into the game unranked for the first time since 2016 and 1-2 for the first time since 1999 in a season where they were thought to be in the college football playoff. But that’s starting to look more unlikely by the weeks with a young offense led by sophomore quarterback Spencer Rattler who has shown potential but has struggled in his first season as a starter with two interceptions in each of his last two games. But with the excellent coaching mind of head coach Lincoln Riley, anything is possible for the Sooners.

With the lackluster outlook from both teams, fans can expect lots of offense from both and for how much is riding for each team for the rest of this season a fiery tough fought game for Red River immortality. My personal predicted score is 42-34 with Texas taking the win.
