I have always been a big fan of baseball, it’s one of the reasons why I play softball. Some of my favorite teams are the Giants, The Dodgers, and especially the Cubs. I specifically go for the Cubs because my grandfather had always loved the Cubs. He wasn’t around to see them win the World Series but being able to see the team, that is a connection to someone who I love so deeply win, was a wonderful feeling. After 108 years of not winning a World Series and having a record of 100 losses, the Chicago Cubs broke the streak, and headed to the playoffs where they won their first World Series since 1908 against the Cleveland Indians.
Every year, every semester there is a victim to the words “class failed”, “did not pass class”, “student is failing a class”, or “student is failing.” All these phrases are something every student has faced at least once with either a bad class grade, a bad test score, or simply daily class work. Here are some ways to avoid failing a class:
It’s early in the morning, and students start filling in the school grounds. Adrianna Leos stands in front of a school where everyone is different, from their personality to the type of clothing that they wear. Lita Andrade stands in front of the same school remembering her time at private school; a completely different type of community where everyone is in the regular uniform of a polo, or a button up, and a skirt or pants. As both the students enter their designated destination, they don’t think twice of the limitations nor the privileges that they each have obtained.
As they walk down separate hallways heading to their class of the hour. One walks with ease heading to her classroom, while the other struggles to figure out how to get around the people in front of her to get to class on time.
