The tennis players seem to be off to a great start this season. They practice every morning so that their hard work can pay off in the matches and tournaments they have.

“We have had a great start and we hope to continue our success with our coach,” senior Eileen Pastrano said.

The team showcased their skills in this past tournament as they competed with two other schools, before the rain canceled the other matches. The team is experiencing a lot of success very early in the season so far.

“ We did well; our first match was really tough versus Fort Bend Clements. On the second day we played Lee and won a very tight match;p [that] was good for us because we lost to Lee two weeks prior,” tennis coach, Jennifer Cordova said.

Coach Cordova is proud of her team and how they performed during this past tournament.

They compete again today at Madison tennis courts.
