The varsity volleyball team is preparing to go into its last district game against MacArthur tonight at 7 p.m. at Littleton Gym.

The season for them had a very solid start, followed by a few bumps in the road, like last Tuesday’s match against Reagan.

The match, recorded by Time Warner for its high school sports channel, was deemed critical by fans and players alike.

“We played hard, we came together… but it wasn’t enough, ” Tanesha Johnson said of the game Tuesday.

The game ended with a score of 3 to 1 with Reagan taking away the win. However, the team did go on to beat Lee last Friday. If the Mavs make it to the playoffs, it will be the first time in 12 years for Madison.

“We’ve done a good job,” varsity Coach Shannon Wolfe said. “If we go in and play our game we’ll win.”
