Dancin’ Dollies

Madison, widely recognized for their outstanding Dollies, holds the Dollie Clinic every year to share their talent with kids grades K-12.

“It’s a good way for our students on campus to put out a positive message,” says architecture teacher Michelle Hendricks, who’s daughter has been attending the clinic for six years.

The Dollies handle everything from coordinating the dances to making sure everyone gets lunch. Dollie Major Ciel Morgan loves the kids, mentioning how exciting the day is.

“It’s cool being leaders. People look up to us, we’re proud,” Dollie Colonel Christian Johnson said. “In just a week and a half, we make up the dances ourselves.”

Dance instructor Shelley Flynn boasts about how proud she is of the girls for working so well alone.

“It’s cool and really funny to see all the kids, the kinder through first graders just dance around and wave at their parents,” Hendricks said. “But being up on stage has impacted my daughter’s self esteem and excites her. Now she loves to be on stage and dance.”
