New Faces: Joiner

By Danielle Cramberg

Felicia Joiner, another of the new members of the assistant principals, is excited to spend her 16 year in education at Madison High School.

She is very happy in her new surroundings. “I love the community,” Joiner said. “I love the people I’m working with.”

Like the other assistant principals, she loves the Madison pride. “I love how big and vast the campus is and how you can do so many things.”

She is passionate about school, even education in general. “As an educator, I particularly value education, period” said Joiner. “It doesn’t have to be academic, it just has to be learning. Learning means growth. Anytime you can help someone grow is a good thing.”

As the head of curriculum of instruction, her most valued characteristic is very appropriate. “Communication skills [are important]. You deal with students, parents, teacher, other administrators… Being able to talk to all types of people is important. You have to have those customer service skills up to par.”

Overall, Joiner is a very down to earth, approachable administrator who enjoys where she works and what she does.

Look forwards to next week’s article on another new assistant principal: Scott Rogers.
