Defeating Johnson and gaining the most prestigious honor of advancing to the playoffs for the first time in 13 years, Madison walked out of Blossom Athletic Center victorious.
“When we won, the atmosphere was filled with excitement,” sophomore and outside hitter Sydney Moriss said. “Everyone started crying. We had so much pride in our school because we were the first team to take Madison to playoffs in 13 years.”
Eyes filled with tears and emotions brimming about to spill over, the players rejoiced on the sidelines.
“It felt so surreal to have won, I was so excited,” junior Sahbria McCletchie said. “I know it sounds cheesy, but it was really such an honor; I’m actually really excited for our next game.”
