Madison To Meet Rockets In Playoffs

By Travis Ostby

With the streak of lost games in the Alamodome broken, and many touchdowns scored, the Mavericks set off to face Judson to battle for a spot in the semifinals.

After the victories over New Braunfels, O’Connor, and Sharyland, Madison advances to the quarterfinals of the state championship playoffs to play Judson at Heroes. This game is the deciding game, as this one is for the semi-finals.

Throughout the season, the Mavericks fought hard with all their effort, and that effort paid off as they secured a spot in the playoffs. And along the way, the students of Madison stand and cheer in the bleachers with every single score. Now the anticipation of another possible victory, and advancing further into the playoffs, creates a hype among the student body.

“The fans can expect a 48 minute game,” junior Robert Waldrup said.

With the possibility of a state championship on the line, the team prepares for the final games that will decide the fate of the team and all their progress.

“In my opinion, I believe the team is confident. We have been working hard all week, and I know that everyone wants this win,” Waldrup said. “We just need to strive to be better every week.”

The outcome of the playoff game will decide who is to move on to the next round of playoffs, and who gets sent back to their respective school and review their performance. With luck and hard work, the Mavericks will come out on top, just like the first three playoff games.
