New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is, in theory, a time of personal improvement and celebrating surviving another year.

Unfortunately, this is no longer the prime basis for New Year’s Eve.

Many people use New Year’s Eve as another excuse to indulge in their need to party, striving for alcohol poisoning as if that were the sole possible way to celebrate. Not to mention, those who actually stick to the purpose of New Year’s Eve give up on their resolutions by February.

However, some people use the holiday to enjoy time with people they’ve spent the last year with and people they want to spend the new year with. They enjoy food, light fireworks, and wave sparklers to celebrate the incoming new year.

Overall, New Year’s Eve has a variety of purposes for people. Some use it to abuse substances, some use it to make changes in their life for the better, and some people just use it as a justification to take down their Christmas decorations.
