Winter Concert

Orchestra performed their annual Winter Concert for family and  friends Wednesday night. Holiday music filled the auditorium as the five levels of orchestra performed their finale number “A Christmas Festival” together.

“The best part of the winter concert is the last song, Christmas Festival, because we [Philharmonic Orchestra] didn’t have to play by ourselves but with Chamber and Band. I love when band and orchestra perform together,” junior violinist Edith Huerta said.

The Concert, Concertino, Sinfonia, Philharmonic, and Chamber Orchestras performed  holiday classics like “Winter Wonderland”, “Let it Snow”, and “Faith Noel”, as well as medleys like “Rhythmic Snapshots of Christmas” and “A Christmas Festival”.

“Performing is the best part of orchestra,” junior violist Shannon Parales said. “But the best part of performing is hearing the applause at the end.”

While performing is the main purpose of the concert, the booster club was present to help raise money for orchestra. The booster club held a silent auction, where a couple of Spurs tickets were up for grabs. The booster club assists orchestra in several ways, including raising money for the UIL Solo Ensemble Concert coming up in February.
