The first day of school today,

I look around and see,

Everyone else’s faces,

Looking back at me.

 

The first day of school today,

I found a table just for me,

I’ll keep my pencils and books as neatly as can be.

 

The first day of school today,

I’m as busy as can be, writing essays and reading my heart away.

 

The first day of school today,

The teachers are very nice,

They have a to-do list,

We must do twice.

 

The first day of school today,

And I’ve gotten really hungry. There’s a lunchbox,

And a juice waiting just for me.

 

After the first day of school,

I am as tired as I can be,

But I’ll go and rest my head,

 

Because my family is waiting for me.
