Big Win Fuels Expectations

Reported by The Advocate Staff

Fresh off their heart-stopping overtime victory against the Brandeis Broncos, our Mavericks are focused on their next opponent, LEE.

The LEE team looking for their second win of the season, but the Mavericks have no intention of being that. Staying sharp is the plan.

“This week is no different than any other week,” said senior LB Ryan Rodriguez, who was also honored at halftime as a National Merit Scholar. “We will still be intense and calculated to defeat LEE; stepping stone to the playoffs.”

The Mavericks have two games remaining in regular-season play. A win against LEE is a must.

Alvyn Gertman says to expect points.

“I think it will be a good game for us and our fans. We will be prepared for them, ” said senior LT, Rey Guerrero.

Plans to beat LEE include being focused and prepared, but senior LG Alvyn Gentry put it very plainly, “Our plan is to blow them out by halftime.”

We shall see. The kickoff is this Friday at 7:00 at Comalander Stadium.
