It’s hard to deny that strawberries are one of the most delicious fruits. Whether you enjoy them plain, dipped in chocolate, or drizzled with condensed milk, their sweet and juicy flavor is hard to resist. If you’re a strawberry lover, you won’t want to miss the annual Poteet Strawberry Festival, located at 9199 N. State Hwy 16 in Poteet, just south of Bexar County.

This festival celebrates the farming tradition and brings people together to enjoy carnival games, delicious food, live music, and plenty of fresh, juicy strawberries. The festival has a rich history dating back to 1948, when the Poteet Rotary Club first organized it intending to get returning veterans back into farming. Since then, it has grown into a beloved tradition for the community, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The festival also helps to fund local scholarships, allowing students to pursue higher education

One of the most exciting parts of the festival is the carnival, which features a variety of rides and games that are sure to provide hours of fun for the whole family.

There are also competitions for the coveted titles of the strawberry king, queen, duke, and dutchess, as well as auctions for the freshest, juiciest strawberries straight from the farm. Live music is another highlight of the festival, with a diverse lineup of performers scheduled for different days of the event.

The Poteet Strawberry Festival is the perfect opportunity to grab your loved ones and dance the night away under the stars. As Cinthya Aleciomonzon exclaims, “I can’t wait to go to the festival and dress up como un fiesta!” Whether you are a local or a visitor, the Poteet Strawberry Festival is an event you will not want to miss.
