Notes,the step towards success.
Since everyone has gone to school at some point in his or her life, he or she might know the act of taking notes. Love or hate it, there is no denying that note taking helps students dramatically on test and school work in general. According to an article out of Rust College, good notes help you understand what is important and secondary. It also provides direction for students and keeps them organized while helping with their studies. But there is definitely a correlation between homework and notes, if you will. The main point I am trying to get across is if teachers want students to have higher test scores, they wouldn’t just have interactive work for students but a mixture of note taking and quality homework. According to the Indiana University School of Education, “We’re not trying to say that all homework is bad. This is more of an argument that it should be quality over quantity,” said Adam Maltese, the lead study author and assistant professor at the IU School of Education. I strongly agree with what he said and it does show that students that take effective notes and spend an adequate amount of time for homework have, on average, higher test scores.
I can affirm that note taking is an important skill to have for college students. If we fail to teach middle and high school students how to do this effectively, then we handicap them in the future. Thanks for sharing this article.
