OCD | What is OCD? OCD is a disorder that makes someone have excessive thoughts (or obsessions) that can lead to repetitive behaviors (or compulsions). OCD centers on themes such as a fear of germs or the need to arrange objects in a specific manner. Symptoms usually begin gradually and vary throughout life.

What are the effects? | OCD effects a lot of people in the U.S. It can interfere with a lot of normal everyday task. Such as, work, school,

‘OCD’ | OCD is often mistaken for people not liking germs, and making everything neat, and cleaning. But these are not the only things that determine whether or not someone has OCD.

Causes? | Currently the causes for OCD are not understood. But humans are getting closer and closer to finding out. Unfortunately, OCD can not currently be cured, but there are some treatments.

Treatments | There are a lot of good medications and treatments for OCD. There is something called Exposure and Response Prevention. There is also a type of medication called serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SRIs.

Hope | Some people can recover completely from OCD with the help of ERP. Unfortunately many peoples OCD never goes away.

You & OCD | OCD does NOT control a person He or she should never be ashamed of having OCD. Many people deal with OCD everyday.
