One in five million adults in America are still smoking. Maybe these Americans should follow what President Barrack Obama is doing in fighting his own personal demons with kicking this bad habit.

Not having smoked since March, Obama has been chewing nicotine gum to stop his “occasional smoking.”
Nicotine gum has been used by many, who are trying to quit smoking and is believed to be more effective than quitting suddenly, also known as cold turkey.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has witnessed the president’s daily battles with attempting to quit smoking.
“I have not seen or witnessed evidence of any smoking in probably nine months,” Gibbs said.
Gibbs continued by saying smoking is something Obama is not proud of.
“President Obama knows it is not good for him. The president doesn’t like his children to know about it either. He has worked extremely hard (to quit smoking) and I think he would even tell you that. In the midst of a tax agreement with Republicans on capital hill and a nuclear arms treaty and all the other things that accumulate on his work desk, he experiences a high level of stress. He has found alternative ways to deal with this stress and replaced the feeling of comfort he once found with smoking. He has pushed it away,” Gibbs said.

According to reports, Obama’s only personal struggles are currently an elevated cholesteral level and tendinitis in his left knee. The occasional smoking is something the president hopes he can check off his list of things to do.
