Rough Rider Football Players Sign College Intention Letters

After a playoff football season for the T.R. Rough Riders, some of the most

hardworking players get signed to play for college campus’s for showing their commitment to the team to reach their full potential.
Did you know that the very first football ever used was actually round, like a basketball or baseball? Did you also know that football originated from the game of rugby from England in the early 1800’s? This particular sport has covered most places around the globe for its entertainment and competitive edge. Some of the Theodore Roosevelt football players have so much passion for this sport that they decided it’s time to take it to the next level. They practiced hard and set their goals as high as they could. And you know what? They’ve accomplished those goals.
Three Rough Rider students, Leland Young, Quinton Bradley, and Savawn Kyle, have been honored by getting signed to play college football this upcoming year. Leland Young played his position at T.R. as Free Safety and has been signed to Texas A&M. Quinton Bradley had his share of wealth and played on the defense and has been signed to Idaho State University. And last but not least, Savawn Kyle played his position well as strong safety and has been signed to West Texas A&M.
“Us coaches feel as if our program has pushed them to reach these goals and hope it’ll help transition them for college football. I know these guys will be very successful. Anytime you go to the next level, the expectations will definitely be set higher,” Coach LaHue, said.
Some of the other students have been inspired by this act and wish to follow in their footsteps. Never aim low, because you can reach the stars if you try hard enough. Nothing is better than the feeling of accomplishment. When you love something that much, you don’t give up. The harder you try, the better chances you have to succeed.
“I feel great about getting signed. I mean, I don’t like leaving Texas but it’s a good opportunity to show everyone what I’ve done. My first thought when I got signed was ‘I’m going to Idaho.’ Huge surprise really, but it really made me happy.” Quinton Bradley, senior, said.
Though the new grounds of their soon-to-be home for at least the next four years is very different from San Antonio, they’re going to definitely like where they end up, even though there is no place like home.
“I feel as if everything I have now, I owe to the coaches. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. They made sure my interests were taken care of and this is what they have done for me,” Savawn Kyle, senior, said.
Obviously feeling well-confident in what their futures have to hold, going separate ways from old high school friends and pursuing their goals on their own is going to be quite a challenge. There is nothing scarier than going out on your own and flying away from the coop. But you can’t always be focused on one thing in case it takes a turn for the worst, right?
“I hope to take football as a career but I also want to do other things just in case it fails so I don’t always just bank off as one. You know, something can always happen. You can get permanently injured and all sorts of things. I just have to have a back up, you know?” Kyle said.
Looks like these guys really have a chance to make themselves of something and can turn out to be successful. They have worked so hard these past few years and hopefully they won’t let anything get in their way now. There are many obstacles in ones life and they seem to have passed them all. They never fail to surprise themselves and everyone else around them.
