The varsity football team scored a critical win against LEE last week, 49-14.

The team came out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, never letting LEE back in.

“We really blew them out, this game was way easier than the Johnson game,” senior Amir Barnhardt said.

Senior Jacobe Jackson brought in three of the Riders’ touchdowns, junior Jalen Smothers two, and seniors Josh Hollis and David Herrera each scored one. The defense that the Riders have been working on all season held LEE to a touchdown each only in the second and third quarter.

“It was a good win that gives us momentum into the next game,” Barnhardt added.

The win brought the Riders to 3-3 in district and 4-5 overall headed into their last game with Churchill on Friday.
