Cow Killers

Are you aware of Velvet Ants? If not well you’re about to learn about them. Velvet Ants aren’t actually apart of the ant family they’re a type of wasp. If you’re wondering why they’re called “Cow Killers” their stingers are one inch long (no joke). These insects are probably the worst insects ever mostly due to their extremely hard exoskeleton, and when you step on them they shriek. There is one way I learned on how to kill them, and that’s by stepping on them and rubbing them on the sidewalk until it disintegrates (well that’s the word I saw when I was reading how to kill them). When I was reading about them I learned that they’re in San Antonio but the weird thing is I’ve never seen one. If you don’t know what they look like they look like fuzzy (I hear they come in a variety of colors). Velvet Ant females actually have wings but males don’t so it’s more like ants with the wingless males and the winged females. Personally I think these things are terrifying, these insects probably dominate other insects or animals trying to kill them (I seriously have no clue what these things get hunted by). What I would do to protect myself from these insects I’d own a Pumice Stone. If you’ve seen fuzzy colored ants you probably have seen these horrible beasts. These wasps don’t live in the stereotypical wasp nest, these things live underground! So for now on I’m going to start looking out for holes in the dirt because I don’t want to get stung by these things. If you are now terrified to go outside I’m sorry, if you’re glad that you know about these things you’re welcome. If you want to look for Velvet Ants just look in you’re lawn or probably a field or something you’re bound to find one. One thing to do if you want look for them see if they have venom just so you know to be extra careful. So have fun trying to avoid or find them.
