On Wednesday, Aug. 11 2010, student editors of ‘The Advocate’ attended a newspaper workshop which covered all of the important aspects of student publications. The editors were also introduced to the district’s new asset to every NEISD affiliated school–the online publication. Student editors worked with newspaper advisors, Allison Boerger and Brenda Slatton. The workshop proved a long day, but every minute spent was more than worth it. ‘The Advocate’s’ student editors left with a full notebook and a cramped hand from note-taking, but they also left with a multitude of knowledge to put toward the new and upcoming year.
