Green Chooses Nebraska

By Richard Hernandez

Senior Aaron Green has made many choices in his life, but arguably none bigger than his announcement about where he will go to play college football.

Green decided to make his announcement at his church Maranatha Bible church, just to “do it his way.” Where Green was surrounded by friends, family, coaches, and even former NFL great Priest Holmes. It was his day. A day that ended with him uttering the words everyone has been waiting for, “Today I decided to go to the University of Nebraska.”

Green knew what he was looking for in his college experience and must have found it at the University of Nebraska. His brother Andrew also happens to go to the University of Nebraska, but he said that didn’t affect his decision.

“I picked [Nebraska], because I can grow, and I want to come out and say that I’m a better man,” Green said. “I can’t go to college just because my brother goes there. I had to go to the college that fits me best.”

Aaron Green will be joining a football team coached by Bo Pelini, with players such as freshman quarterback Taylor Martinez and sophomore running back Rex Burkhead.

“I feel good, I’m confident and comfortable about my pick right now,” Green said.

Even though Green’s senior season is approaching the end, the team still has two more regular season games; one against Lee this Saturday, and the other against MacArthur next week.

“It was just fun,” Green said, “It’s funner than any other level of football and I will never get this time back.”
