Ten years ago, The Fast and the Furious exploded on the big screen making street racing a goldmine in blockbuster films. No movie, in the past decade, has even come close to matching the nitro-fueled car film. That is until Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson teamed up to bring us Fast Five.

The film begins right where it left off with Dom (Vin Diesel) receiving 25 years in federal prison. However, Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) are determined to bust out his long time friend and her only living family member doing it the only way they know how to.

Now being wanted fugitives all three flee to Rio where they try to do one last job before they disappear. After the job goes completely wrong and two DEA agents get killed, the trio must go up against the biggest drug kingpin in Brazil and American agents led by agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson).

The trio cannot catch a break and create a plan that will take them off the map. To complete their plan, they must reunite the crew from the previous four films including Tej (Ludacris), Roman (Tyrese), and Gisele (Gal Gadot).

The film has the viwer with their foot on the gas and not letting go until the end. The intensity even continues after the film ends. So stay in your seat until the credits are done rolling.

Action packed throughout the entire film, Fast Five competes for the top spot in the Fast and Furious franchise. The film never has a dull moment; it perfectly combines comedy with suspense and includes the most epic fight scene seen on the big screen. It keeps your heart racing and your adrenaline pumping.

Fast Five was the perfect choice to begin the summer blockbuster film. It sets the standard of 2011 films and what should be expected. Again, remember  to stay until the credits stop rolling.
