Ag Hosts Event for Kindergartners

A new generation of Ag childern course their way through the Agriculture building. The Ag Program hosted an event for kindergartners from Sept 25 to Sept 28 to provide insight into the program.

“We are trying to provide Ag education for younger kids,” Ag Program Head Justin Missildime said. “They are learning basic tractor safety and about species.”

Due to exclusivness of the program, Madison is the only school that provides Agriculture in the district, the exact details of it may be mysterious to children and their parents who are unaware of what the program entails.  After seeing the barns, reactions of the children varied.

“They were excited,” junior Haley Cox said. “Some were scared.”

The wide varieties of animals and tractor rides built up hype amongst these kindergartners who may later want to join the program. With the huge turnouts the event had the Ag program will stay strong for many years to come.
