Is there a specific reason to divide up the schools?

Our decision was based on classroom availability, keeping your children with their teacher and classmates all year, and being financially responsible.

For example, the total classroom capacity at Wilderness Oak, filling every seat in every classroom, is 1226 students.  This is less than the combined projected enrollments for Wilderness Oak and Vineyard Ranch, so Vineyard Ranch enrollment will be split between Wilderness Oak and Hardy Oak. Please understand this is only a temporary situation.

Our commitment to you is that your child will start the year with his/her teacher and classmates and, with the exception of staffing adjustments, his/her class will remain together throughout the year. The integrity of the instructional program is our upmost priority for all schools.

Please explain how you are going to ensure academic excellence in a time of transition?

The instruction will not change.  All North East ISD teachers follow a district scope and sequence. While every teacher may deliver the content in a unique manner to address the specific needs of his/her students, the content remains the same across the district. The teachers at all campuses are committed to ensuring student success and academic excellence.

Will siblings be separated or kept together at the same school?

Based on the division of grades referenced in the superintendent’s letter, it is possible your children will be separated until the opening of the new school.  Our commitment to you is that your child will start the year with his/her teacher and classmates and, with the exception of staffing adjustments, his/her class will remain together throughout the year. Please understand, this is only a temporary situation.

Will KIN be available at the temporary sites?

Our commitment to you is that your child will start the year with his/her teacher and classmates and, with the exception of staffing adjustments, his/her class will remain together throughout the year. This same commitment will be applied to the KIN program as well. We will provide a KIN program for all students by hiring staff for both new schools. When the new schools open, the staff will move as well.

Will my son/daughter receive bus transportation?
