Nearly 100 attend first blood drive

Student Council had their first Blood-Drive Oct. 1, and they had 95 students, teachers and staff donate blood.

“I’ve never done this; it’s my first time donating and it’s really scary specially the needles,” senior Annalisa Gomez said. Annalisa and her boyfriend senior Alex Medina were in lunch eating while they were making the announcements about the blood drive.

“We both decided to join it because it was for a good cause; we would be helping some one that needs the same blood we have,” Gomez said.

The event drew many first timers.

“This is my first time giving blood and making a difference by donating blood knowing I’m helping someone,” senior Priscilla Morin said. Morin was with her best friend when she decided to donate.

“She started talking about donating and showed me her sticker I was like ‘I want one’ and that’s what made me donate and I’m here now,” Morin said.
