Band and dance dressed as zombies for the Thriller Halloween halftime performance.

The dance and band joined together to dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller song at the Halloween football game. Over 85 dancers danced at the stadium friday night during half time, after learning it and practicing for nearly a week.

“That’s not bad,” said dance coach Alison Redding. Band students said they enjoyed practicing with the dance and said they felt they did a great job together Friday night.

“It was a lot of fun;cool to see the dance,” freshman Elvis Fisher said. “They were really great. All teams worked together and it was outstanding.”

Dancers wore bloody ripped shirts but not only were their shirts bloody, their faces was drenched with “blood” as they arrived onto the field.

Hear from the dancers about their performance and preparation

“Friday night was different from all the other years, But it was pretty good and the dancers looked really freaky,” senior Jasmine Perez said.

The dance came the week after eligibility for the first nine weeks changed, so many students worked to keep their grades up to be able to participate.

“It was inspirational to want to pass all classes  and to be eligible for Friday night’s game and dance Thriller with my team and the band,” sophomore Ashley Alfaro said.

The band and dancers didn’t go trick or treating but they did feel confidence about performing in front of a few hundred people. Even though they looked scary, some students still tried to glam it up.

“I didn’t feel very scary because I had glitter on my face but I did feel we did amazing dancing to Thriller,” Freshman Jolynn Martinez said.

Though the varsity team lost their game, they still had fun with the performance. All seniors will be recognized at tonight’s game versus Lee at Comalander.
