No Looking Back: Final Checklist for Seniors

Graduation for all seniors is right around the corner.

Here’s a final checklist for seniors to prepare for the main event.

Senior semester exams for third and seventh periods are tomorrow, fourth period on Monday, June 1 and lastly, second and fifth periods on Tuesday June 2.

It's time for seniors to say goodbye

The time has come for this years’ seniors to say goodbye to Roosevelt.

On Wednesday June 3, seniors have no more classes must report to the Band Parking Lot no later than 8:15 a.m. for breakfast; then at 8:35 they must check with their teachers to locate their place for the Mandatory CAMPUS Graduation Rehearsal. This will be followed by practice which begins at 9 a.m.

At 10 a.m., seniors must report to the auditorium for a Mandatory Senior Meeting. There, seniors will get their senior t-shirts, graduation parking passes, and watch the senior slide show.

After this meeting, seniors will collect their caps and gowns from Josten’s in the auditorium. Gowns will also be available for purchase during that time.

It is also necessary for seniors to take care of any text book fines and other obligations before this date.

On Thursday June 4 there is a mandatory graduation rehearsal at Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum, 3201 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78219 from 1-3 p.m.

The actual graduation is 7 p.m. at the Coliseum, and graduates must arrive by 5 p.m. to get dressed and line up.

The following are rules for seniors to remember at graduation:

If you need assistance at the coliseum, look for teachers, staff members, or police that will be stationed throughout.

Officers will intervene and remove anyone who disrupts during the ceremony.

The ceremony will last about two hours. It is discouraged for guests to leave after their loved one’s name is called; please wait until the end of the ceremony.

A professional video of graduation along with Lifetouch pictures of each individual senior will be available for purchase. Lifetouch will take pictures backstage as well.

Seniors are reminded to dress appropriately and to not bring cell phones or cameras.

Men should wear a a dress shirt and tie, slacks, and dress shoes which means no work boots, tennis shoes, sandals or flip-flops.

Ladies should wear a nice, street-length dress and comfortable heels.
