Varsity rifle competes at Nationals

The varsity rifle team has come a long way since the start of school. They made it through several rough matches on the way to Nationals. The team of five and one extra and our sponsor Ltc.Floutz left Feb. 17 at 7:15 a.m. for Anniston, Alabama. It’s a nearly nine-hour drive, before competition began the next day.
The girls Samantha and Windle made it to the finals and the whole precision team made it to all service nationals.
The team practiced before and after school and also attended practice meets to get ready for the event.
“We had a practice match at Lee High school to help us as a team prepare for this big match against other competitive schools, like Reagan and Churchill,” senior Samantha Bakaysa said.
We needed to get all the extra time and practice preparing ourselves for one of the biggest matches rifle team takes on.
