Track team set to compete at area

Twenty one students are slated to complete at the area track meet this week after placing in the top four at district competition last week.

Josh Morgan placed first in Long Jump and second in Triple Jump. Leroy Giles placed third in Long Jump and second in the 200-Meter Dash. Bryson Carroll placed second in the 100-Meter Dash while Giles placed third. Nathaniel Everett placed third for High Jump. Iesha Broussard placed third, Ayleen Carrizales placed 4th for girls High Jump. Broussard also placed second in the 200 meter dash.

Amariay Easter placed 4th for the 400-Meter Dash. Noah Silvas placed second in the 800-Meter Dash. The 4x100m Relay team including Tommy Mills, D’Morea Keys, Tyrell Darden, Leroy Giles, Bryson Carroll and Josh Morgan placed third, while the 4x400m relay team consisting of Abideen Bello, Noah Silvas, Tyrell Darden, Amariay Easter, Christian Ritter and Bryson Carroll placed fourth.

The girls 4×100 team consisting of Brooke Finch, Tamia Laury, Courtney Owens, and Melanie Monet will compete at area as well as the 4X400 team of  Brooke Finch, Iesha Broussard, Mitzi Miranda and Ayleen Carrizales.

The track teams will compete at area tomorrow and Thursday at Heroes Stadium.
