New Teachers Settle In

This school year at there are 31 new teachers settling into new routines on campus. There are new teachers in every core subject and electives.
Derek Noriskin is one of the new teachers, he teaches AP World Geography and is also the assistant coach for tennis. This year marks his 12th year of coaching and first year of teaching.
“When I look at just my life and my different career paths and so forth the theme of teaching has always been there and I’ve always enjoyed the connection,” Noriskin said. “The student-teacher connection, and I felt it was a natural progress to the transition into the classroom and so forth.”
Fran Rosaly is another new teacher and she teaches theater and technical theater to all grade levels.
Unlike Noriskin, Rosaly has been teaching for 22 years, but this is her first year at Roosevelt.
Both teachers have been having a good time here at Roosevelt, when needed students help them on directions and keeping classes calm and collected.
“I love Roosevelt High School,” Rosaly said. “I just moved here from Arizona and I can’t tell you how wonderful of a school this is. I love working with all of the kids here. The best decision is to become a teacher here at Roosevelt.”
