New to Netflix: American Horror Story: Season 5

Another season of American Horror Story was released on Netflix on Oct. 3. If you’re not a AHS fan then you probably don’t know that every season is different. Each season after another has a different story line, unlike other shows that follow the same story line from the first season to the last. Which is one of the things that makes the show interesting and unique. Another thing that makes it stand out is the content that is put into the episodes. Every single one has to do with creepy and gory scenes and weird moments that might make you question why you’re even watching the show in the first place. Season 5 is the latest season that was uploaded to Netflix and all of the AHS fans were excited as could be. It was a special moment for those who didn’t get to watch it while it was on TV. Also they said that this season is creepier and scarier than the others.

The first episode starts off with two girls that check in to a hotel called Hotel Cortez. The girls get a really bad feeling as soon as they walk in but when they find out they can’t get a refund for their money, they decide to stay since they already paid for one night. As the day goes by strange things start happening. They see and hear things that aren’t there but seem so real. A couple of minutes into the show the girls start smelling something in their room, one of the girls described it as smelling like a dead animal.

They realize that it’s coming from the bed and take off the sheets, then they see a huge line going down the bed where it was once open but someone sewed it back up. One of the girls opened it back up and a disfigured person popped out and attacked them. Although they were okay, later on one of the girls was murdered (or so viewers thought) by what seemed to be some kind of demonic or vampire child. Then we don’t see them again until the next episode where they are both murdered. Then it cuts to the theme music used in every season which is quite creepy. Along with the music are weird and creepy images that make you want to look away. After the first episode things just start to get out of hand. Crazy things start to happen. More people check in but never check out, strange and suspicious murders happen in the hotel rooms but are never solved. It’s just a wild rollercoaster from beginning to end, but you would have to watch it yourself to get a good idea of what the show is really about.

I thought that the show really weird and interesting, but in a good way. It may not be appropriate for younger viewers due to mature content and violence, but if you’re into all that kind of stuff and it catches your attention then I would definitely recommend that you watch it.
