The Hunger Games, a book and movie series not touched on since 2015 has come back for its fifth movie to honor the dystopian and action filled prequel, A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, by Suzanne Collins, published on May 19, 2020.

Fans were both shocked and thrilled not only to have this book, but also a movie on a big screen. This movie, set 64 years back of the hunger games timeline, reveals more history of how the games were played as well as showing many “new” characters that fans can fit into their pre-existing knowledge.

Fans started to come up with many theories since the film came out in theaters pointing out red flags, or talking about family trees that have never been confirmed but most likely are cannon.

The Hunger Games has always been famous and this revival has allowed many old fans to talk about how they feel about the new movie, cast, and how well the adaptation follows Snow’s origin.

Despite the rotten tomatoes ratings, many fans were satisfied with the movie and how its cinematography was able to capture the impactfulness through the soundtrack and the actors’ emotional performance. Everyone’s creativity was recognizable from the start as the performances from cast and crew merged to create a stunning film.
