NHS Raises Funds for Animal Defense League

By Mary Gibson

The National Honor Society (NHS) has started to raise money to help out the Animal Defense League.

“We’re giving away blue wrist bands at lunch if you donate more than $2,” Anne Ducote, the NHS sponsor, said.

The money is going to the League to help buy food, beds, bowls, and collars. It’s also helping out with vaccines.

“The Animal Defense League is always looking for help because they have a lot of animals coming in daily,” Senior Kristen Hoelscher, a member from the NHS, said.
According to Hoelscher, Ducote is really compatible with animals, so she knew this would be a perfect opportunity.
“Im really excited! I think it’s a great way to help out with the Animal Defense League,” Hoelscher said.
The program will run through Oct. 28 when NHS will use the money to purchase supplies for the ADL.
