Seniors Jakorey Davis, Frank Barnes, Steven Marshall, Kelvin Anzell, Carl Whitley, Jeffrey Bryson and Payton Kemp were all able to get together on Feb. 6 with principal Melvin Echard, their coaches and parents and were able to sign their letter pledging to go to their desired schools and play for their team.

Signing took place in the team room and the students had their audience watching, encouraging, and supporting them 100 percent of the way.
“It felt really cool to finally be living my dream, even though it wasn’t broadcasted, it still felt cool to have people taking pictures. I know there is no turning back but I don’t care because this is what I wanna do, this is what I’ve been waiting for since freshman year,” Kemp said.
Kemp plans to go to Hendrix College for college football and be able to major in kinesiology to become a head football coach and minor in government and economics. Hendrix is currently a D3 school and for the last 52 years there has been no football program and Kemp will become the tight or defensive end for Hendrix’s first returning football year.
These seniors were all able to have been recruited by many schools and as the coaches flew in from out of states the students were able to show off what they could do. As their FAFSA is evaluated they have the chance to have full ride or half scholarships and finally be able to live their dream and play college football.
