Top 3 movie picks for Halloween

As Halloween creeps up we must be prepared for the spooks and thrills that come with it. Halloween movies are the life of Halloween. For some people scary movies aren’t as spook-tacular as they say, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t love Halloween.

For scaredy cats like me the best I can do is “Halloween” and “Nightmare on Elm Street”. Then the movie that I think is the best and can be played for more than one holiday is “Nightmare Before Christmas”.

“Halloween”

“Halloween” from 1978 is a movie about the Michael Myers trying to kill a girl named Laura. It’s great for the season because the story was set around Halloween time and killing people is scary business. Another reason that this is a good choice of movie is that it is a classic horror movie with dark lighting, loud eerie effects, and barely believable acting. Everyone you know has probably seen this amazing creation of a movie.

“A Nightmare on Elm Street”

“A Nightmare on Elm Street” from 1984 is about a boogie man named Freddy Kruger. Teenager Nancy Thompson and her friends try to find a way to beat Freddy, but how can they if he attacks them in their sleep? Just like the movie “Halloween” this is another classic horror movie that most people have seen. So if you want to watch something that’s scary but you don’t have to cover your face with the blanket this is the movie for you.

* Fun Fact: this is Johnny Depp’s first acting role.*

“Nightmare Before Christmas”

“Nightmare Before Christmas” from 1993 is literally the best Halloween/Christmas movie ever.  Tim Burton was a genius when he wrote this masterpiece.  This movie will take everything that’s wrong with the world and throw it out the window. This is the perfect movie for you and your family to watch  together. Jack Skellington the Pumpkin King has gotten bored of his life and looks for something new. One day Jack stumbles on the holiday Christmas and decides to take it over. This movie would definitely be my top choice for Halloween night.

All these movies are very crucial to the spirit and life of Halloween.
