2017/2018 Reflection

Out of all the adventures I have experienced this year as a 7th graders its been by far the best year of middle school. I’ve met so many new people and have experienced so many new memories it’s extremely hard to pick my favorite. But if i really had to pick, one of the things I would never forget about yearbook was the new camera techniques I learned and my group of friends that worked on the yearbook with me. We accomplished  a lot this year as group and I am proud of the accomplishments we achieved together. We did a lot in yearbook this year that had me feeling proud over a variety of things. I was most proud of my Red Ribbon Week page, because I had done it all on my own, and really enjoyed how it turned out with the limited amount of photos. The people in this year yearbook class have all been extremely nice and hard working throughout the entire year.  Out of all the things they have done, the nicest thing they have done is help my friends and I find eighth graders for different projects. Even though yearbook was a really fun class , we did run into some challenges. There were some bumps in the road , like the spanish page, since we had not many pictures, and the avid page along with that challenge. One of my favorite places to be in the school would be Mr.G room. I have all my friends in that class and mr.G always has a charger, so if my phone is running low i can just pop into his classroom and charge it. If I could change something about this year it would be that we should have had more of a theme with backgrounds and talked more about what we would all use. And with all the accomplishments I had this year I think to have helped my friends would be by taking a lot of pictures for all pages. I’ve also learned a lot this year like how to use a camera, how to use photoshop , and how to cooperate with a team. It was hard learning the basics of everything and getting use to it but towards the end of the year I felt like a pro. My biggest improvement would probably be the photoshop projects we did. I’ve enjoyed many things this year in yearbook my favorite part was probably the adventures we would have taking pictures around campus. I was able to help my other classmates with photoshop since I picked up the skill pretty easily. And throughout the year we read a series books but my favorite book was where the red fern grows. Along with not only the yearbook we also wrote for our schools newspaper. My favorite piece was most likely the njhs piece I did. I put a lot of effort into that piece and really enjoyed writing it. It’s hard to really choose one friend. All my friends made an impact on my life this year so I can’t choose one. Something teachers could have done to make the year better was probably give us less big projects . It was very stressful dealing with the amount of work we had.  If I had to describe the school year in 6 adjectives would be new, stressful, tired, good, anxious, moody. After this long year if I could go back and tell myself something , I would like to tell my past self “stop procrastinating it will hit you in the future, and try to not stress as much.” I think the cooperation skills we learned this year could help me in the future with my future job. And if the students next year were to ask me for advice I would say to stay focus and to just try to keep calm in stressful situations.
