The Madison Varsity Tennis team is ready to ace the upcoming season! After making it to the state finals last season, Maya Bowe will return. The hopes are high to start the season off strong.

“We have a lot of seniors on Varsity they have improved a lot since they were freshmen!” said Coach Riechel, head coach of the tennis team. “They are improving every match and I am looking forward to the team applying all the skills they are learning into the next match.” 

Going up against the Churchill tennis team earlier in August, Varsity player Emmanuel Morales is confident in his abilities in the next tournament. “I wasn’t doing as well as I should have,” Morales claimed, “but the next tournament I’m hoping to do better,” said Morales.

The following varsity tournament occurred on August 31st against Johnson High School. The team has come a long way since they started. “I’ve been looking forward to going against an old rival, I played against him last year at the District Tournament,” said Emmanuel Morales.
