What an “Earnest” Review

“The Importance of Being Earnest” is a Success for RTC

Oscar Wilde’s famous words rang through the halls as Roosevelt Theatre Company performed “The Importance of Being Earnest” for students and their families. The show was a four night performance that began Oct. 20 and ended Oct.23.

Many students contributed to the preparation of the show, with the help of Roosevelt’s Theatre Director, Andrew Hardaway. He prepped and worked with the actors to help prepare them for the show. Each actor dedicated themselves to many weeks of late rehearsals to ensure the play would make viewers come back for more.

Along with the acting, the set of the show was pleasing to the eye and interesting for the audience to marvel at. With the black and white striped ramp and door unit, the set was a magnificent sight. The tech crews were proud to know the audience enjoyed the view of the set that each of them worked hard to create.

The light and sound crews were also a part of the shows success. The light crew hit all cues that brought the scenes to life. The music that enhanced each character were tactfully in sync with every cue. The tech crews were grateful to be a part of the experience.

Overall the show was a great success. Each night brought more audience members, including former and present students. There were plenty of laughs and applause that gave the actors and director the satisfaction of a great show.
