After a tough loss in the final seconds of the Rough Riders first pre-district game, the coaches and players are still very optimistic for the season ahead.
One of the most anticipatied games of the season against Judson is just around the corner but this is only one of many games to look forward to this season. Some other key games to go to this season is against Madison, Reagan, and MacArthur.
“I am looking forward to our rival game with Judson, we owe them from last year,” Greg Adams, senior, said.
Although, the Rough Riders were stopped short in the first game of the playoffs last season, coaches and players are looking to go back this year.
“Steele got the best of us last year in the playoffs, but this year we want to get out of the first round,” Senior Cornerback Wayne Saunders said.
With Roosevelt returning only a few starters this year, there are many players to watch who could potenially have a break out year including Elias Rodriguez, Abraham Prather, and Wayne Saunders.
“Honestly, It’s a privlege, but it comes with a lot responsibility,” Senior Linebacker Elias Rodriguez said.
The students, teachers, and alumni are all behind the Rough Riders this season, so come show your support as they try to push past the first round of the playoffs in this tough 26-5A District.
