Spring Show-final goodbye to spirit seniors

Annual Johnson spring show is the last time the seniors can show off their skills to friends and family

Johnson’s dance, cheer, and pep squad are taking stage May 12 in the auditorium for the annual Spring Show. The show is a mixture of every genre of dance-with hip-hop, lyrical, military, and kick routines. As an end of the year performance, it’s a way to see how each team has progressed from the beginning of the year and say good bye to the spirit seniors.

“The Texas Ladies Pep Squad is performing in two routines-hip hop and military. I’m really excited, the dance is coming along great,” freshman Gabby Bottoms said.

The show brings the spotlight on the seniors as this is their last performance as a Legacy, Belle, or cheerleader. They will continue the tradition of being escorted across the stage with their dad for a daddy/daughter dance.

Legacies and Belles will both be showing off their energetic hip-hop, lyrical, and modern routines. The Legacies are performing a kick and contemporary routine, and Belles a jazz and jazz-hip hop.

Spring Show also offers the opportunity for other dancers not on a Dance or Cheer team to perform. Mrs. Trevino’s Dance I and II classes are both performing in a modern dance. This is the first year the two classes have been available to students seeking improvement in skill and technique, so this is also the first time the class has performed for the school as Dance I and II.

Tickets can be pre-ordered now until May 11th for $5 each from any spirit member. The show is in the auditorium at Johnson H.S. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the performance at the door during the 3 pm afternoon show or the 7 pm matinee.
