Baseball strikes out

The Jags baseball team did not want to be left out so they added to the Johnson vs Smithson valley domination. Johnson sports have knocked out Smithson valley in three different sports in the season alone football, softball and now baseball.

“We did what we needed to do and it for sure wasn’t easy but now were already focused on the next round taking it one game at a time,” senior Dmitri Mauricio said

Now the Jags had a matchup against corpus christi King but the jags fell short of overcoming their second round slump. They got swept by King and will have to wait until next year to make a playoff run.

“It’s no fun to lose and in the playoffs is even worse, that’s the only way to describe it especially being a senior and playing here for the last four years this loss really hurts,” senior Tanner Wall said.

The Jags still had a very good season and got past the second round for the 5th straight year and will look to make it 6 next season. Departing seniors will definitely make it hard to rebuild but that’s a yearly occurrence having younger players fill the roles of the seniors.

“Although the season is over and we are moving on to the next step in our lives we all believe in these young guys to get the job done and continue to build a winning and successful program looking into the future of Johnson sports,” Wall said.
